Spark Movement Academy

Holly Miguel is the owner of Spark Movement Academy and a retired disabled U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer who served as an aircraft mechanic. Her dance journey began in Eureka, MO, where she studied ballet, tap, and jazz before joining Alexandra Ballet, a performing company that sparked her lifelong passion. She also competed in acrobatics, cheered through college, and was a competitive powerlifter. After relocating to NAS Whidbey Island in 2011, Holly returned to dance and has been teaching ever since. She believes being a child’s first dance teacher is a special role and finds peace and purpose in the studio. To Holly, dance is therapy — a way to reset, focus, and grow. At Spark, she teaches more than just great technique; she instills values like responsibility, resilience, and respect. She believes movement is for everyone, and her mission is to help students build confidence, character, and a lifelong love for dance.
