Oak Harbor Friends of the Library Meeting

Description

Please join the Oak Harbor Friends of the Library for their meeting. This not-for-profit, volunteer organization was established in 1962, the same year the Snohomish and Island County library systems joined to create Sno-Isle Libraries.

The Friends raise funds through an ongoing sale of books and monetary donations, and they undertake projects and supply items that fall outside the established budget of their local library. The Oak Harbor Friends of the Library support children’s, teens and adult programs, including craft supplies and snacks; and they purchase the prize books each year for the summer reading program.

It is the mission of the Oak Harbor Friends of the Library:

• to educate the community on the Library's services, resources and needs;
• to nurture partnerships between the Library and the people it serves;
• to enrich and support the multi-faceted programs and services of the Library that reflect the diversity within the community; and
• to promote the freedom to explore intellectual, educational, and recreational interests.
