Oak Harbor Downtown Redevelopment Open House

The City of Oak Harbor is excited to announce an open house to share the latest developments regarding the redevelopment of our downtown area. Residents are invited to attend this open house to learn more about the upcoming improvements to the Waterfront District and provide thoughts and feedback.

The open house will highlight the plans for downtown, including updates on road and utility improvements, enhanced pedestrian walkways, and efforts to improve traffic flow. These upgrades are designed to enhance accessibility, create a safer environment, and make the downtown area more inviting for residents, businesses, and visitors.

A message from City of Oak Harbor Public Works Director, Steve Schuller:
 "We want to hear from citizens, businesses, property owners, families, the young, those with special needs, octogenarians, introverts, and community leaders as we work together to continue to make downtown a place we can all be proud of to live, work, shop, dine, recreate, and experience life together.  This redevelopment is an exciting step forward, for three reasons, first to allow the community to replace decades of aging infrastructure, second to protect surrounding farms, forests, and open spaces from additional development, and third to give future generations the groundwork and master plan they will construct upon long after we are gone.   We encourage everyone to attend and share their thoughts.”

The open house is an excellent opportunity for residents to get involved, ask questions, and provide feedback on the project. Light refreshments provided and fun raffles. Everyone is welcome.
