DESCRIPTION:Don't miss the annual "Welcome the Whales Parade and Festival" in Langley to honor and celebrate the arrival of Gray whales to Whidbey Island. Saturday April 8th: 11 am Langley United Methodist Church (3rd/Anthes) - hands-on educational displays\, costume-making\, and children's activities 1:30 pm Whale and Critter Parade in downtown Langley\, beginning at US Bank parking lot and ending at the Waterfront "Whale Bell" Park with a blessing\, music\, and celebration on the beach. 11 am   5 pm The Langley Whale Center at 115 Anthes will be open with special activities and displays about Gray whales. 3 pm at the Methodist Church featured speaker Joel Reynolds from Natural Resources Defense Council. Joel will tell the story of NRDC's efforts to protect and save the gray whale breeding and birthing area at San Ignacio Lagoon. Sunday\, April 9th: 11 am - 5 pm Browse the Langley Whale Center's Exhibits\, displays and gift shop Tour the beautiful schooner Suva docked at the Langley Marina throughout the day. 11 am - 1 pm join us for a Langley beach cleanup as we participate in Empty the Tanks' Global Beach Cleanup Day and help to protect important gray whale feeding habitat 3 pm   5pm take to the water to see the Gray whales\, on Orca Network's Gray Whale Fundraising Cruise on board the Mystic Sea whale watch boat. Tickets are $75/person and include appetizers and beverages. Tickets for the cruise must be purchased in advance on Orca Network's website at www.orcanetwork.org.
