SUMMARY:National Tartan Day Pacific Northwest Piping Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a wonderful evening of Highland bagpiping as some of the region's top professional pipers help us celebrate National Tartan Day! Seven highly accomplished pipers have been invited to compete in this unique event that will also be streamed live on a webcast produced by the Celtic Arts Foundation. These pipers have all played and won numerous prizes at North American and Scottish piping competitions and in a few cases taken home the most coveted awards available for this art form! We are pleased to welcome Dr. Gary West of Edinburgh\, Scotland to emcee the event. Gary is the host of BBC Scotland's acclaimed "PipeLine" program. Parts of this event will be rebroadcast on a future PipeLine in Scotland\, adding to the exciting events that have been broadcast from the Littlefield Celtic Center. This will be the first piping event held in North America to be featured on a PipeLine program. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6:30PM. Each participant will perform a 10-minute musical selection\, comprised of tunes of their choice and style\, promising an evening of diverse and entertaining music for the audience. Invited pipers include: Alan Bevan\, Abbotsford\, BC Alastair Lee\, Coquitlam\, BC Andrew Lee\, Surrey\, BC Jack Lee\, Surrey\, BC James P. Troy\, Victoria\, BC Jori Chisholm\, Seattle\, WA Teddy Krogh\, Anchorage\, AK Members of the Celtic Arts Foundation save $5 per ticket\, so be sure to join or renew before making your purchase in order to save on this event and many others!
