Description
Join Dr. Cindy R. Elliser, Founder and Research Director of PacMam, to learn about harbor porpoises in the Salish Sea! "Surprisingly little is known about harbor porpoises in the Salish Sea, despite the fact that they are one of the most abundant marine mammal species in the area. Through observation and photo-ID research, Pacific Mammal Research (PacMam) is learning more about their population through the lens of the individual." Dr. Cindy Elliser will present her talk titled, "Making a Mark: Harbor Porpoises in the Salish Sea" on Friday, February 25th from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. Join us to learn all about harbor porpoises, the photo-ID research PacMam is conducting and what we have learned so far about this poorly understood marine mammal. Pre-registration is required to attend this event due to limited space inside the shelter. Please pre-register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/spring-speaker-series-126579. This event will follow COVID-19 guidelines, and masks will be required indoors for all participants regardless of vaccination status. In partnership with park staff, we will be offering a virtual livestream of this lecture as well via Microsoft Teams.
