Description
The Bard’s Boutique Artist Spotlight presents author Sarri Gilman reading from her new memoir, “Cocoon.” The reading will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Front Room Gallery upstairs at the Bayview Cash Store.
“Cocoon” is a memoir about starting a shelter for teens and the many issues Gilman faced doing that work. It is a story of hope, healing, and the power of community. Whidbey resident, Gilman is the founder of Cocoon House in Everett, Wash. She is a psychotherapist who has a TEDx Talk with over one million views. “My hope is this book will restore your faith in people and what is truly possible. It will also reveal what it means to work on the front lines in human services and the price we sometimes pay to serve others.”
This is a Pay-What-You-Will event to support Island Shakespeare Festival in Langley. Seating is limited; please arrive early!
