August's Speaker CAPT Thomas "Lurch" Lovett, USN Commanding Officer VAQ-144     A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Captain Lovett graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Following three years as an enlisted Electronics Technician he entered OCS at Pensacola, FL receiving his commission in 1999. He was winged as a Naval Flight Officer in January 2001.CAPT Lovett has served as CO of VAQ - 131 and as Air Boss on the USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) In January of 2022, CAPT Lovett became the first Commanding Officer of the newly formed VAQ-144.
